Complaint What Happened Dear DISCOVER CREDIT CARD ; I have disputed this item with the credit reporting agency and they reported you confirmed the account as valid. I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Complaint What Happened There was a fraudulent transaction done using my discover credit card. I have submitted proof to the company showing that it was impossible for me to have done the transaction. The purchase was made in a different state at a store that I had never been to before and the store was a jeweler for an exorbitant amount of money that I would have never paid for jewelry. Discover has said that I am responsible for the transaction but has failed to provide any proof or reason as to why I was liable.

Complaint What Happened discover card : sent bill made the payments, discover card : months down the road prints wrong address on bill, still made automatic, payments discover card : raises interest rate bill payments goes up, all notification letters go to wrong address, automatic payments still continuing. discover card : fees go wild unknown to me. they call after months. discover card : corrects address suppose to clear up fees. Discover card every month clears up fees if I call, five months go by and continuation of late fees go on. Discover card now says nothing more they can do I have to pay them all the extra fees which added up five months worth.

Complaint What Happened My wallet was stolen with my ID and Social Security Card. Multiple fraudulent accounts have been opened. When I first received a copy of my credit report in XX/XX/2023, I found the accounts to be errors. The company Discover Bank has two different accounts ( XXXX & XXXX ) with addresses of which I have never used and or never resided. I have been asking for months for a signed contract with my signature and they have failed to do so. Yet, they have sent me letters that have a different account number ( XXXX ) on it with the same balance as ( XXXX ). On the bill that was sent to me with account ending in XXXX has an address that I have never resided at. Account ending in XXXX has two bills with both a XXXX balance, one with an address that I never lived at and a po box that I have never owned. Also, I received a letter from Discover Bank stating that " After completing our investigation, our records indicate we have not placed the inquiry referenced in your dispute on your credit file that is viewable by us. You may be seeing a promotional offer or an account review inquiry that is only viewable to you and not viewable by other creditors. '' how can I have an account with no inquiry from them in their records. I have attached the letter with the above statement and all documents that has sent me. Complaint What Happened Please be advised that this is my SECOND REQUEST asking you to remove the unverified account listed below that remain on my credit report in violation of the 15 U.S.C 1681. You are required under the FCRA to have properly verified the accuracy of an account listed on my credit report. In the results of your first re-investigation, you stated in writing that you verified that the item is being reported correctly. What this mean is that your company must be willing and able to produce a document in your files that proves the account in dispute belong to me and the information being reported is accurate and you must be able to do this in a court of law if I file a lawsuit against you. Someone in your company must authenticate the knowledge of the alleged account and all that has ever transpired for the alleged account, under oath and under the penalty of perjury. You have ignored my request to provide me with the documents that you have in your files that you used to verify the disputed account which means that you are NOT verified or you can not verify my account and under section 611 ( 5 ) ( A ) of the FRCA- you are required to promptly delete all information which can not be verified.

Complaint What Happened I opened a secured card with Discover XXXXo help build credit. I was asked to put {$500.00} down as a security deposit to be re-payed after demonstrating healthy credit management. I received an email stating that I had indeed demonstrated healthy credit management and that I should receive a check returning my security within XXXX business days. I never received the check. I reached out to a customer service rep and they said I had to wait XXXX days to see if it was delivered. I was told I could receive the payment via ACH if I have a verified bank account. It has now been over a month since the check was " issued '' ( XXXX ) and I still have not received it. After reaching out again to check on the status of this check and ask for a ACH I was told that they have to recut a check ( XXXX days ) f then resend it and that I can not receive the payment via ACH. I am not interested in Discover earning interest for XXXX months on the money that should have been in my bank account over a month ago. Please advise.

Complaint What Happened There was a fraudulent transaction on my discover card XX/XX/2019. I contacted discover the day after it happened. They took off the charge and then a few months down the road they re-added the charge and accused me of having done the transaction myself. I have proof that I was not in the area as it is very far away from my house. I have contacted discover multiple times for them to investigate and every time I get a response to give them 6 weeks to re-open the investigation. They never contact me back and then I have to reach out and for them to tell me that there was no additional information that would allow them to investigate further. It seems as though there is no effort in their investigation and it is simply convenient for them to place the blame on me. I have never been to that store in my life and I didnt even know what it was until discover told me. I very rarely travel that far away from home to go shopping.

Complaint What Happened I entered into an agreement with discovercard several years ago whereby they would waive late fees and cut my interest rate if i got on a regular payment plan. I have been paying them XXXX every month for several years. Earlier this year I was not able to make a payment, subsequently we entered a new arangement whereby I would pay XXXX for a set period of time. Even though I paid the XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX they said they charged off my account on XXXX/XXXX/2015. I have no access to it online nor will they send me statements. I am supposed to keep paying them and if I have questions call them on the phone. I was under the impression that revolving debt had to be delinquent XXXX consecutive days to be charged off. Complaint What Happened This is a secure Discover credit card which I opened with a {$300.00} security deposit in XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, I filed for chapter XXXX, which resulted in Discover closing my card account. I contacted Discover around XX/XX/XXXX to inquire about getting the remaining balance of my unspent security deposit refunded back to me, approximate {$53.00}. I was told by Discover that I needed to wait for my discharge before I could get my money back. I again contacted them near XX/XX/XXXX and was told that they did not update their system with the discharge date and I would again need to wait again, since they just now did so. I again attempted to contact them today, and was told that they applied a balance to my card account in XX/XX/XXXX, and the statement closed in XX/XX/XXXX, and I would again need to wait. To date, it has been approximately 6 months that I have been waiting to receive the unspent balance of money that I gave to them last year, and they have done nothing but give me the run around whenever I call them.

Complaint What Happened According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC 1681 section 602 a states " There is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. '' XXXX, XXXX and XXXX are consumer reporting agencies and I am the Consumer. I have the right to make sure my private information isn't shared which is backed by 15 USC 6801 which states " It is the policy of the Congress that each financial institution has an affirmative and continuing obligation to respect the privacy of its customers and to protect the security and confidentiality of those customers nonpublic personal information. ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) is a financial institution by definition under that title. 15 USC 1681 section 604 a section 2 states that " In general Subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. '' ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) the financial institution and the Consumer reporting agencies XXXX and XXXX do not have my consent to furnish this information and they surely do not have my written consent. Any and all consent to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) whether it be verbal, non-verbal, written, implied or otherwise is revoked. 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ) states that " A financial institution may not disclose nonpublic personal information to a nonaffiliated third party unless the consumer is given an explanation of how the consumer can exercise that nondisclosure option. '' ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) Never informed me of my right to exercise my nondisclosure option. Not only that 15 USC 1681C ( a ) ( 5 ) states '' Except as authorized under subsection ( b ), no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information Any other adverse item of information, other than records of convictions of crimes which antedates the report by more than seven years. '' This account is an adverse item they are reporting again without my permission which is against the law. 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 ( A ) ( 1 ) A states " A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. 15 U.S. Code 1681e states '' Every consumer reporting agency shall maintain reasonable procedures designed to avoid violations of section 1681c of this title and to limit the furnishing of consumer reports to the purposes listed under section 1681b of this title. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX are not maintaining reasonable procedures. Also 12 CFR 1016.7 states that " A consumer may exercise the right to opt out at any time. I am opting out of your reporting services.
