Complaint What Happened Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ), I am writing to urgently request your assistance in rectifying a significant error on my credit report that has severely impacted my financial standing and ability to pursue homeownership. On XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX reported a 30-day late payment to major credit bureaus, which has resulted in a derogatory mark on my credit history. However, this late payment was reported in error and does not accurately reflect my payment history with XXXX. I want to emphasize that I have consistently maintained timely payments on my accounts with XXXX. Despite this, I did not receive any communication from XXXX regarding late activity on my account. There were no text messages, emails, or phone calls alerting me to any issues, leading to confusion and surprise upon discovering the reported late payment. Additionally, my account with XXXX is linked directly to my XXXX XXXX bank account, which consistently maintains sufficient funds for all transactions. At the time the payment was due, my XXXX XXXX account had a balance of {$1500.00}, more than enough to cover the required payment of {$260.00}. In fact, I regularly made payments of {$350.00} per month, well above the minimum requirement. Given these circumstances, there was no valid reason for the payment to be missed, and ample resources were available to ensure timely payment of the account. The consequences of this misreported late payment are severe, as it has dramatically impacted my credit score and ability to secure financing for a home purchase. Therefore, I urgently request that the erroneous 30-day late payment be deleted from my credit report. I implore the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) to investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that XXXX complies with all relevant credit reporting laws. Additionally, I ask for your assistance in facilitating the removal of this erroneous late payment from my credit report as soon as possible. Please find attached documentation supporting my complaint, including copies of my credit report highlighting the inaccuracies. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I eagerly await your response and swift resolution.
