Complaint What Happened In XX/XX/XXXX my car was in an accident where someone hit my car while i was inside of my office. Kia whom i was leasing my car from took a couple of months before they could deem my car a total loss. Within those few months they expected me to make car payments on a vehicle I could XXXX XXXX because it was completely smashed. XX/XX/XXXX is when they finally deemed my car a total loss and then XXXX is when my insurance company ( XXXX ) sent them a check for XXXX dollars. Kia had told me the car was XXXX or so leaving about XXXX left over. I spoke with different representatives at this company and they all told me whatever is left over they keep because technically i was " renting the car from them '' i received a call in XX/XX/XXXX saying i owed them XXXX XXXX dollars in missed car payments which was not the case as we learned months later i didnt owe them anything because my car was a total loss. fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX my car account was still open with XXXX and i was receiving MANY phone calls about these " payments '' i kept asking them why they couldnt close my account and they said it was never paid for. I proved it numerous times that my insurance did in fact pay for it and didnt know what more to do. Now, since XX/XX/XXXX kia has been consistently calling me telling me i owe them XXXX XXXX dollars for my kia and charged it off as bad debt on my credit report resulting in me having a tough time getting another vehicle or anything for that matter. Can someone help me?

Complaint What Happened XX/XX/XXXX I paid my annual excise tax to the town of XXXX via Kia Motor Finance Co for my leased XXXX Kia XXXX in the amount of {$180.00} for XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX I leased a new XXXX Kia XXXX. I traded in my XXXX Kia and transferred my plates to the new car. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Kia to request a refund of the tax paid, as I paid the tax for the year on a car that I held onto for 11 days. Kia agreed an abatement was due and they, as title holder, would contact the town of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to filed for an abatement. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to check if Kia had filed for an abatement. They confirmed that Kia had not done so. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Kia again, not having received my refund, nor an update on the status of this refund. I was told by Kia customer service that I would need to mail a copy of my current MA registration for the XXXX Kia. XX/XX/XXXX I sent to Kia 's property tax department, via certified USPS mail a copy of my registration as well as a letter which included my account number, vin, etc. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Kia for a status update on the abatement. They were unable to provide me an update but stated that they would have a representative reach out to me within a couple days. XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from XXXX XXXX in the escalations department. She stated that Kia did not receive my registration ( which again was sent certified mail ). XXXX XXXX agreed to email me after our call and that I could rely to her email and attach a copy of my registration and I did so. I can provide a copy of this correspondence if needed. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Kia to request a timeline for when I might receive the abatement. I spoke with XXXX in escalations and was told that they had no copy of my registration received ( by either USPS or email ) and that only a fax of my registration would be accepted. XX/XX/XXXX I filed a complaint with the Massachusetts AG office ( I have not heard back as of XX/XX/XXXX ). XX/XX/XXXX I filed a complaint with the consumer financial protection bureau ( CFPB ). Kia responded to the complaint stating that they filed a request with the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The CFPB then considered the complaint closed. This is untrue. XXXX tax office has NO record of any filing by Kia. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Kia for a status update. I spoke with XXXX from customer service who was unable to provide an update. I requested a call back from someone who could provide an update. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the XXXX tax collector 's office and spoke with XXXX. She confirmed, with certainty, that no request for an abatement had been filed from Kia.

Complaint What Happened This is not a car dealership complaint. This is a Hyundai Corporate complaint. My wife and I decided to buy our leased XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, and we were approved for a car loan for the buyout amount of XXXX. Our Credit Union mailed the check and odometer/mileage disclosure statement to Corporate Hyundai Finance and waited for the title and bill of sale to be sent to them, so I could register the car and pay the sales tax at the Rhode Island DMV . When nothing ever came after a month, I called Hyundai and explained the situation, and they told me it was sent, but the credit union said nothing ever arrived. I called numerous times about the status of the title and bill of sale and was transferred to different people, even being hung up on by customer service when I pressed for more information. The credit union then got involved by calling Hyundai and received the run-around about how the title was sent, which it was not, and even they were hung up on by customer service. After another month and numerous calls, Hyundai sent a " letter of no interest '' to the credit union, and we thought the DMV would accept it. When I went to the DMV to register my car, that letter was rejected, and they told me that according to the law Hyundai has to send the title to the bank along with an updated bill of sale. If they can't find the title, they would have to request a new copy from the DMV and then send that with the bill of sale to the credit union. As of today, XX/XX/XXXX, 8 months later, the bank still hasn't received anything and my options are few, and I need some major help. I sent a letter with accompanying documents on XX/XX/XXXX, explaining the entire situation to Hyundai Finance, and wouldn't you guess, the letter seems to have never been delivered to them. I am going to send out more copies of that material to every department I can find to see if anyone can help. After doing my research, it seems this is a tactic Hyundai has used on hundreds and hundreds of people. My registration expires in XXXX, and I find it incomprehensible that Hyundai would partake in this kind of business practice.

Complaint What Happened I was contacted earlier this year by a person claiming to represent Hyundai stating that I had a past due balance on my account. At that time, I was unaware of any balance due, and had already turned in this leased vehicle to the dealership months earlier, in favor of a renewed lease on a newer vehicle. While speaking to the agent on the phone, I logged into my account at hmfusa.com, and saw that I have a {$0.00} balance. My most recent statement for this account was dated XX/XX/2019 and showed Total Amount Due {$0.00}. Considering I had an unknown person calling me unsolicited and asking for money, while giving me conflicting information from what my online statement showed me, obviously this raised red flags. The agent was unable to tell me why my online account showed no balance due, or what the amount owed was for. The agent advised they would mail me an invoice showing me the balance due, which I agreed to review and pay if it was in fact legitimate. This invoice never arrived. I have still yet to receive any piece of paper showing what the balance owed is for. Moving forward, I have been in the process of refinancing my home. Earlier this month, my mortgage broker advised me that they noticed a sharp drop in my credit score from one day to the next. I immediately reviewed my credit report to find that Hyundai reported my account as seriously delinquent, for a vehicle I had turned in more than six months ago, and for an account to which I have no statement showing I owe any money. To add to this, my account was enrolled in autopay, which served to pay any balance for the duration of my lease. Any money owed should have just been debited from my account, but that is not what happened. I have since attempted to resolve this matter with Hyundai Motor Finance over the phone over multiple occasions. I was transferred, hung up on, and lied to. I was told I would receive a call back from a manager within 72 hours, only to find out a week later that no managers make outbound calls, and that there was no record of that request on my account. I have since paid the balance due, despite still not seeing any invoice to indicate what it was for, as my concern for the $ XXXX dollars that I was told I owed is far less than the impact this has taken on my credit report. I have worked very diligently throughout my life to maintain a flawless credit score, however this incident has taken me from over 800, to in the 600s at the time of this writing. I am in the process of trying to refinance my home, and this incident is severely impacting my ability to do so, and in turn costing me FAR more money than the {$300.00} Hyundai requested ( and in turn received ) from me. I have now sent a letter in writing to Hyundai, as I was told this is the only method I am able to communicate with their disputes department. I initiated a dispute with XXXX when this first appeared ealier this month, however just today this has now appeared on my XXXX report as well, despite having already been paid! I have attached the most recent statement I have for this account.

Complaint What Happened Summary : Hyundai Motor Finance allowed me to setup an autopay but prevented me from cancelling it online and did not cancel it over the phone. As a result, they continued to attempt to make the payment, which resulted in me owing XXXX further NSF fees. Details : I had a bank account closed due to fraud. This generated a return due to " Account Closed '' on my Hyundai Motor Finance autopay. Despite this, XXXX continued to attempt to charge my account and after the second return blocked me from making online payments. As a result of the block, I was prevented by their website from making changes to my Autopay -- specifically I was blocked from cancelling it. I called them twice and was told by their debt collection team ( first call ) and their customer service team ( second call ) that my autopay was cancelled. On my third call today, 5-6 months after the initial bounce, I was told that my autopay had again been cancelled. XXXX refused to refund my NSF fees and refused to investigate the problem at hand ( which is clearly a software/dunning logic issue ). Thank you, XXXX

Complaint What Happened Ive made numerous attempts to retrieve a copy of my title from Hyundai Motor Finance. Each rep has told me something different, and I can see that all 3 requests Ive made have been closed, yet neither I nor the XXXX DMV have a copy of my title. I moved over a month ago from XXXX to XXXX XXXX and I need this paperwork to register my car in XXXX XXXX. If I dont get a copy of my title soon, my car will literally become illegal to drive.

Complaint What Happened I was out of state traveling and had left my vehicle at my friend XXXX XXXX 'XXXX XXXX complex, XXXX XXXX in XXXX Rhode Island because she was supposed XXXX XXXX me to and from the airport. My XXXX XXXX XXXX was left on private property in the parking lot of her apartment complex. Upon returning on XX/XX/XXXX, my vehicle was no where to be found in the parking lot. I first called the towing company associated with the apartment complex who had no knowledge as to the whereabouts of my car. I spoke to the XXXX of the apartment complex and she had no knowledge of my vehicle being towed. I called the XXXX police department and asked them if they had any records related to my vehicle and they didn't have any information regarding my vehicle. The XXXX police department sent an XXXX to XXXX XXXX apartments to try and further assist me at which point I was advised to fill out a police report stating my car had been stolen and that upon recovery I would like to pursue legal action against anyone found to be involved in my missing car. I called the customer number for Hyundai Motor Finance, the company my vehicle is financed through and they told me that my car was repossessed and gave me the number to the recovery agency. I was out of state at the time my vehicle was repossessed and had made arrangements to pay the total amount due upon returning. I had called Hyundai Motor finance on XX/XX/XXXX to get the total amount due from the automated phoneline in order to XXXX the total amount due upon returning. I never received anything through certified mail stating that my car was going to be repossessed which according to the state laws in Rhode Island and Massachusetts is a legal requirement prior to repossessing a vehicle to let the person responsible for the auto loan know the vehicle is going to be repossessed prior to the vehicle actually being repossessed. According to the state laws in Rhode Island XXXX The city/town police department in which a vehicle is going to be repossessed from must be notified prior to the repossession of said vehicle. The XXXX Police department had know prior knowledge of my vehicle being repossessed the date of XX/XX/XXXX, nor the date of XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, or XXXX of XXXX. The Rhode Island Recover company in XXXX Rhode Island did not do their due diligence in taking proper action required prior to recovering my XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX. The Rhode Island XXXX company that repossessed my vehicle for Hyundai Motor Finance also illegally took my car from private property which according to the state laws regarding repossession of a vehicle in the state of Rhode Island XXXX is illegal action. Therefore, I wish to formally file a complaint against Hyundai Motor Finance for wrongful repossession of a vehicle without proper notification prior to repossession, and also with the company associated with the illegal repossession of my vehicle for not taking the proper and legal steps prior to the recovery of a vehicle for a financial company.

Complaint What Happened On or about XXXX, XXXX, I returned a XXXX KIA XXXX at lease end in pristine condition inside and out with XXXX miles less than the contracted miles. KIA appeared to be annoyed that I did not give them repeat, successive business. From a third party collection agency, I found out that KIA had a {$2000.00} claim which was not satisfied, never notifying me details. Verbal telecon info from the collection agency indicated claim items were padded and some outright lies and embellishments. This was reported to XXXX, whose response were in the form of form letters and questionaires. They did nothing, but knock down my credit score from XXXX to XXXX I contacted both KIA and XXXX. Both replied apathetically..

Complaint What Happened In XXXX I moved to XXXX XXXX and I submitted a state title transfer on my lease. On XX/XX/XXXX I made a payment of {$11000.00} to pay off my account in full. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Kia Finance America to confirm payment and next steps. They said that once they payment is fully processed I will be able to complete the Bill of Sale and Odometer statement. I received these filled them out and submitted them online. On XXXX I called again for an update and they said they never received other after I submitted it so I submitted again. On XXXX I called again and they still told me that they never received it. I got forwarded to customer service where they told me that it was received but they don't actually have the title because it was sent for the transfer to the XXXX XXXX and they were waiting for it back. I called back again on XX/XX/XXXX because I still hadn't heard back and I was told that they received the title on XX/XX/XXXX and were going to process it. After still not getting anything I called back XXXX, where they told me that they never received it and that they are submitting a recall request from the XXXX nd that no where it says that they received the title. I heard this same thing when I called on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I called again and was told again that they did received that title on XX/XX/XXXX and I requested the XXXX tracking number to confirm this - XXXX. I was once again told for the XXXX time that they will escalate this to get me my title. But still no effort is being made to send me the title, or give me any sort of clear information or time frame. XXXX week I'm told they have it, another they tell me they don't and say they don't know when I wwill get it. It has been nearly XXXX months since I payed off my account, but I still don't have any proof of ownership.

Complaint What Happened On XX/XX/XXXX, I made a payment of {$580.00} as reflected due on my XX/XX/XXXX statement. That payment was to cover for a due date of XX/XX/XXXX. The payment successfully posted. I logged in this morning and was alarmed to see a payment due on XX/XX/XXXX of {$700.00}. Now, I has also called about 6 months ago after receiving notification of tax payment due for my vehicle. I asked the associate if I could make payments over the minimum and when I do, would that automatically be applied to the balance I owe for taxes. She confidently replied YES. So, for 6 months I have been doing that, only to find that they have not been applied to taxes. Why would I overpay on a lease? On XX/XX/2020 at approximately XXXX XXXX EST, I made a call to Hyundai Motor Finance to discuss a concern I had with my payment due amount. I spoke with an associate that told me that I still owed the {$700.00}. I asked to speak to a supervisor. XXXX XXXX, supervisor at Hyundai Motor Finance, informed me that the website was incorrect and I owed nothing more for XX/XX/XXXX but would go ahead an resume my normal payment amount for XX/XX/XXXX. He also provided me with a confirmation number. Due to his lack of confidence on the call, I waited a few hours and called back at XXXX XXXX EST. The associate the informed me that I actually owe {$190.00}. She was unable to explain to me why her explanation differed from XXXX XXXX 's. I then asked for another supervisor and specifically requested to not speak with XXXX XXXX again but of course, he came on the line. When I confirmed that it was him I spoke to earlier, I asked for a different supervisor to which he responded, " There is no one else here. It's just me ''. He also advised that it " may '' be possible for me to get another supervisor so I offered to hold but he told me that y only option was to call back to " try '' to get someone else. At which point, I requested an address to submit an Executive Complaint/Escalation. His response, " We do not have that. There is no address to submit a complaint and your questions or concerns end here ''. I have been in the XXXX XXXX for over 13 years and I am WELL aware of the options to Escalate beyond the call center environment. So my next move is to call back for a 3rd time with the anticipation that XXXX XXXX 's shift has hopefully ended and see if I can get a 3rd amount of payment due from a different supervisor. This is not an acceptable response to my financial concerns. He/they did not help and can not provide accurate information and refused to help me.

Complaint What Happened I signed lease paperwork XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX XXXX for a XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, MA. The VIN number is XXXX and provided a down payment of {$5600.00}. We had it for approximately XXXX weeks then discovered a wiper issue. So we thought. We contacted the dealership, and was advised to bring it in for repair. We were advised the motor needed to be replaced and part was to be ordered. After a couple of weeks, we were advised it was not the wiper motor, but now the harness needed to be replaced. We were told this was a major job and parts needed to be ordered. After a few weeks of no information, we were informed that there were more issues, and the service could not resolve them and an engineer needed to look at the vehicle from XXXX. The XXXX Department advised I open a case, since there were major issues with the vehicle, I opened a case with the manufacturer. ( The case No. is XXXX ) The vehicle has been at XXXX XXXX since XX/XX/XXXX. I have spoken at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX and to date, no resolution. XXXX is approaching and I am making monthly payments along with insurance payments. These defects substantially impair the use, market value or safety of the vehicle under the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was informed by XXXX from the XXXX Department ( XXXX ) that the vehicle was deemed a XXXX and falls within the XXXX XXXX criteria. This is my son 's vehicle, and I do not want him driving a vehicle where safety XXXX be an issue. The case XXXX, XXXX XXXX, does not return my calls at all.
